An Open Letter to Rudy Giuliani |
Like most Americans, in the months following 9/11, I had a tendency to credit you for New York's remarkable comeback after such a tragedy. We will always appreciate and honor your leadership in that regard.
But I write with disappointment. I think your pandering 'conference call' in which you lambasted Kerry for his 'position' on terrorism was a devastating blow to your credibility and career.
It's truly unfortunate that our President has mismanaged this country so gravely that he must ask you to sacrifice your integrity during this critical time for America.
Isn't there room in you guys' apparatus for at least one 'leader' who is prone to acknowledge reality? To carry the 'preparedness' torch rather than a rocket launcher? To promote security rather than fear? That can no longer be you.
You should have stood your ground and proposed a more effective way to support the president. A smarter plan may have even quelled the growing notion that another four years of Bush could be devastating.
This is in reponse to this.
