Olympics Right for LOGO |
You may have heard by now that there's going to be a gay and lesbian television channel -- LOGO -- set to debut in February on Digital Basic. I remember their big announcement about upcoming programming, which includes the first broadcast of the GLAAD Media Awards.I just wanted to offer another suggestion: a rebroadcast of the men's swimming and gymnastics competition. I have a very liberal gaydar, i'll be the first to admit, but surely half of these beautiful and talented athletes are gay. Maybe it's just wishful thinking. Regardless, i hearby offer my suggestion to MTV Networks: replay the men's Olympic swimming/diving and gymnastic competitions.
The Olympics have been on for quite a few days, but tonight is the first i tuned in. Lucky for me, i caught a bit of the afore mentioned events. Now, I'm motivated to check the schedule more regularly.
There's been lots of chatter among my friends about these Olympians. Sam posted this on his blog today, for example.
Watching the Olympics now -- having been out of the closet for so long -- i can look back on my enthusiam as a child. Funny how i hated sports, but loved the Olympics. The first one I can recall was 1984 when McDonald's was a key sponsor and they sold clear glass coffee mugs w/ logos from each of the events at their drive-thru. I am sure mom still has a few of those at home in the cabinet.

You are too funy. Was it that same Olympic games that they used the friendly animated American Eagle as the mascot?

I totally agree. But they shouldn't just limit themselves to this year's Olympics, I don't think. Show the hottie 1984 gymanastics team again. The 1996 swim team. OH! And while we're talking sports, they should cover 1.) Cheerleading, 2.) Mens/Womens gymanastics, 3.) Men's swimming, 4.) Women's tennis, 5.) Water Polo, 6.) Those "Fitness" competitions, and 7.) the Lifeguard Olympics in Lexington, KY. :)
esther, here.
You can't have a LOGO Olympic program without reruns of the wrestling competions! Hello RUSSIA! PRivIEt!
Now really, we have to add softball for the womyn. How could you forget?
